I can't believe in this day when there are so many people that would like to take care of a child that a parent would knowingly starve or abuse their own child. If you don't want to take care of them give them to someone that would love and care for them. This is inexcusible.

Why are they being charged for just neglect? Why aren't they being charged for murder? Any way you look at it, that it just what they did to that poor innocent child. They murdered her.

Not only murder, but, premeditated murder. Death penalty for both of these people!

I hope they starve her when she goes to prison, if she goes to prison that is. She will plead insanity and the great court systems will probably let her off. My daughter is a GREAT foster mom and would give anything to have children of her own. Weather it be her giving birth or by adoption. She has 2 beautiful little foster girls right now that she just adores. I don't understand how someone can do this kind of stuff to a innocent child that was not ask to be brought into this would. I agree with renelumpmp in the comment above. I hope she will be starved also. But there again the great court systems would say sorry, can't do that. That is inhumane. Do they not think it is inhumane to starve a innocentchild???

First she should not be charged with child negelet. She should be charged with first degree murder. She should be put in jail and starved to death!

Too bad she doesn't live in Texas. We have the death penalty and we believe in using it...OFTEN!!! We don't waste alot of tax dollars keeping murderers like her on death row. As the comedian Ron White says in his act, "Many legislators are trying to do away with the death penalty, but his state [TX] is trying to install an express lane!" And it's for people like her and pedophiles who murder children. Unfortunately, Andrea Yates got off on the insanity plea.

Seriously. Why waste time. Send them both to my house and I will starve them, saving the time for courts and jurors.

Don't send those people to jail. Send them to my house. I will make sure this child gets justice.

You are so right. That was murder. Send her to TX. They know how to get rid of that kind. That was first degree murder

How can you judge without the whole story? Maybe the mother and her partner are sick. They may have asked for help and England in no better than the United States at providing help. Social services people are overworked and underpaid for what they do. Maybe the death is the governments fault. Get the whole story before you judge?

How sad ! This could Have been prevented. Surely, a neighbor, family member , school, hell, somebody ! Should have suspected something going on! People are so wound up in their own little worlds these days, they just block out everything else, even the suspect abuse of a poor innocent child. What a ------- tragedy ! Makes me ashamed !

Very unimaginable when I hear such things as this story. How can someone do such things to their own child...an innocent child who did not asked to be starved to death. Totally just frustrating to me.

If parents know they they do not want the child, then they should just take the child to a hospital, or wherver they take care of kids, just anywehre where a child will be safe and unharmed.

Common, to plead insanity..give me a break. I have no remorse for these kind of people.

A study in the United States suggests that female children who live in a household where there is an adult male who is not their father are more likely to suffer abuse, neglect, molestation, and virtually every other evil thing that can happen to little girls. The same study also indicated that the girl's natural mothers knew when bad things were happening to their daughters, but often took no action to protect them.

A psychologist who specializes in female dependency issues might be able to explain WHY women fail to protect their children in such situations, but I can't offer any adequate rationale.
